Welcome to CCIE Lounge!

Welcome to our blog dedicated to CCIE certification at related topics. Several of us have already obtained Routing & Switching status (including me). However, on our journey to obtaining dual CCIE status, we decided to start this blog to share information along the way. Topics will include router & firewall virtualization, tips 'n tricks, hacks, and other geek related stuff. Stay tuned.

Typically the person in this role will have 10 - 15 years experience in the business, customer enterprise skills in the enterprise or the service provider space. Person is experience with Network design and implementation and utilizes Cisco best practices with the customer. They are usually on the customer site 2 to 3 days per week. This engineer will act a s a strategic customer resource. Technical Account Management Skills. Excellent presentation skills. Excellent writing skills. Leadership and mentoring skills.

Senior Network Engineer
Successful candidates will perform analysis and diagnosis highly complex network problems, perform network design, generate network configurations for low level design to highly complex networks, generate standard project documentation, support pre-sales activity, and plan and execute network upgrades and migrations. Engineers will also be responsible for network design, assisting customers with deployment and strategy of highly complex tools and related Management Systems, and troubleshooting and resolving customer network problems across a broad range of technologies.

In addition to the above information candidates will have:
Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment, Undertake support as designated Advanced Services engineer for large-scale networks, possess strong technical account management skills, have a minimum 1 year of experience in high-level support, large-scale network design skills, active participant in virtual technology teams within Advanced Services, In-depth knowledge of network management, and network availability & capacity planning.

The required skills for this position are BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus 5-8 years experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. A CCIE is preferred.
